Stefani Germanotta (born March 28, 1986 in Manhattan, New York) is an American singer-songwriter, actress and dancer. Raised in New York, she studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and was selected for the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. She left school to pursue a musical career, made a name for herself on the Lower East Side rock music scene and signed an agreement with Streamline Records in late 2007 as a songwriter.
