Madonna
Madonna, born Madonna Louise Ciccone on August 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan, is an American singer, dancer, actress, film producer, director and businesswoman. Arriving in 1978 in New York to pursue a career as a dancer, Madonna signed to Sire Records in 1982 and released her debut album the following year, followed by a series of critically acclaimed and commercially acclaimed albums: The albums Like a Virgin and True Blue sold more than 20 million copies each, while Ray of Light and Confessions on a Dance Floor were awarded Grammy Awards.
