Thyme

Thyme is a plant of the lamiaceae family. They are creeping or padded plants, bearing small, pale pink or white flowers. The latter are rich in essential oils. Thus, they give off an instantly recognizable odor and it is this property which makes them aromatic plants. Its essential oil, for its part, is obtained directly by hydrodistillation of its leaves. It releases a warm and lively scent at the same time and is used in perfumes to give them a more aromatic and sunny touch. In general, thyme goes very well with woody or chypre compositions as well as with the category of ferns.
